Individual donations are the heart of our organization’s sustainability.
Your support helps us:
Offer vibrant arts programs in Chicago Public Schools
Host free and low-cost community events that celebrate culture and connection
Provide scholarships so students can attend our classes, regardless of financial means
When you give to Kalapriya, you’re not just making a donation—you’re investing in joy, access, and cultural equity. Whether it's $5 or $500, every gift helps us move forward.
We welcome all levels of support and deeply appreciate your generosity.
Kalapriya is a non-profit, federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) foundation, and your generous donations are tax deductible.
Join Our Board of Directors
Are you passionate about the arts, community, and meaningful change? This is a truly exciting time to join our Board of Directors. Based in Chicago, our organization was founded in 1994 with a vision to uplift South Asian performing arts—and today, we’re poised to grow in bold new ways and make an even more substantial impact on our community.
We’re expanding our programs, performances, and partnerships across the city and beyond. And we’re looking for new voices to help shape what’s next.
You don’t need to be a South Asian arts expert to get involved. We welcome individuals of all backgrounds and professions. Whether you're deeply rooted in Chicago or live elsewhere and want to support our mission from afar, we’d love for you to be part of this journey.
We especially value people who are compassionate and creative—those who bring not just skills, but heart and imagination to the work. Experience in areas like finance, law, education, marketing, fundraising, or nonprofit strategy is a bonus, but not required. What matters most is your willingness to collaborate, create, and uplift.
Our board meets monthly (with a virtual option), and members are encouraged to attend and support our vibrant events and programs throughout the year. You’ll join a passionate, welcoming team helping to grow a cultural home for South Asian performing arts in Chicago.
