Date: Sunday, December 6, 2026
Time: 4-6PM
Venue: Kalapriya Studio
Address: 2101 S. Wabash Ave, Chicago, IL

Tickets: $30 or $20 (students with ID)

This program opens with a 45-minute Hindustani classical vocal performance, followed by an interactive lecture-demonstration that introduces audiences to the depth, beauty, and improvisational richness of the art form. Designed for listeners with little or no prior exposure, it blends live performance, guided listening, and cultural insight to make a sophisticated art form immediately accessible.

Through voice, tabla and harmonium, the artists will guide audiences from first listening experience to deeper understanding, revealing how melody, rhythm, and emotion intertwine in real time.

The second half will be interactive, immersive, and accessible, featuring:

• Call-and-response demonstrations

• Audience clapping of rhythmic cycles

• Guided listening and reflection

• Printed notes with QR codes linking to relevant recordings, so you can keep listening after the event
