Kalapriya Center for Indian Performing Arts presents India’s artistic diversity through performing arts (dance, music, theater, and story-telling) that preserve traditional South Asian art forms, and that build bridges between the performing arts and our contemporary lives.

Chicago has the second largest concentration of Indian and Pakistani immigrants in the country, and our work is to showcase the variety that exists culturally and artistically within this vibrant population. Kalapriya celebrates and embraces the many genres of Indian performing arts in order to engage our audiences, empower our students and build our community. Kalapriya serves all Chicagoans at its studios and in public and private performances. In addition to working within public and private schools, we also maintain work to serve those communities who are underserved within the city. Kalapriya is a not for profit tax exempt 501C(3) foundation located in the City of Chicago.
