After a difficult weekend for so many, let’s find peace in the voices of Kalapriya’s Artistic Director, Ahila Devi Vigneswaran, and the conductors of Chicago Children’s Choir. Here they perform “Sri Venkateswara Suprabhatam,” a pre-dawn vedic chant performed to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala Temple. ‘Suprabhatam’ is a Sanskrit term which literally means ‘Good Morning’ and is meant to wake up the Lord from His celestial sleep. The practice of vedic chant dates back at least 3,000 years and is potentially the world’s oldest continuous vocal tradition. As we start a new week, let us remember the power of bringing voices together, to unite in humanity. https://youtu.be/2CFWT7mPDHA
